Thailand is divided into 7 regions and 76 provinces. Gross provincial product (GPP) is estimated using two methods - the first for agriculture using production, price and regional intermediate costs, and the second for other sectors by disaggregating national GDP to provinces based on production indicators. GPP is presented by 16 economic sectors at current and constant prices. While the top-down GPP estimation has limitations, Thailand also encourages bottom-up GPP estimation by individual provinces, but this faces challenges of incomplete data and staff changes.
